Where to meet girls & boys

Istanbul is full of controversies and this is also right for some midnight heat between the sheets. You see, making friends is very easy, especially if you’re a girl. But really getting the girl or boy of your choice might become a bit hard as friends are very protective around here. This is a good thing, just for the record.
If you are a European looking girl, you won’t have any problems, rather too may admirers. It’s a bit harder for the guys, especially if you’re totally into Turkish girls, because they are kind of hard to get (at least they have a very developed skill of ignoring guys). The Turkish people are not really used to dividing the bill (they call it the German style), so just invite your new made friend to a drink and maybe things will work out. Parties to hook up very easy: The ones from Erasmus, to be found over Facebook!
Araf
Really nice club over two floors with a mixture of Oldies, Charts, Reggae, (Turkish) Pop and sometimes even live-music. You see, they have a bit of everything. Beer starts at 5 YTL (2, 50 Euro), which is kind of the cheapest price for a beer that you will find at a club! Cheap and cheerful.

Dirty
Be sure to a) have enough girls in your entourage in order to get in easily or b) be dressed in vintage. After you pass the door (I DO NOT like the doorman, but I looove the club) you have two rooms to choose from. Come to this club if you like Electro-music. Beer starts at 8 YTL (4 Euro), Vodka Energy for 12 YTL (6 Euro).

Pixie
Rather small electro club right at the Galatasaray Lisesi. You shouldn’t come too late because they close the doors at around 4 am. Unfortunately not that cheap but definitely fun and in an underground-style not so often seen in Istanbul. Beer starts at 8 YTL (4 Euro).

Riddim Club
Not to be confused with the Ritim Bar, which is a three floor bar close to the Balik Pasaji (where you get really cheap beer by the way). Riddim Club is your place-to-be if you enjoy Black Music! Don’t mind that some of the staff thinks that Sasha Cohen’s style from the Madonna “Music” video is compulsive, though. The DJ knows how to make you dance, only the drinks are a bit more expensive than elsewhere (beer starts at 10 YTL = 5 Euro).

Indigo
This is a rather new club or let’s say lately re-opened club with changing DJ´s from all over the world and again its electronic-music. You can find Turkish students just as mid-thirties as this is a really unconventional party area. Come with Jeans and Sneakers or the latest Gucci dress, it really doesn’t matter as long as you enjoy yourself.
