Hostels

As you will need all day to explore the city, your hotel doesn’t have to be some five star residence. If you make the trip with your friends you might even get a whole dorm to yourselves and start a nice warming up party before you rock the night.

Chill Out Hostel
There are three Chill Out Hostels in Istanbul, all located around the Istiklal Caddesi, the main shopping and nightlife spot of the city. You have a collective kitchen and bath-rooms, a chill-out zone with television and nice staff who like to help. Our favourite is the Chill Out Cengo, just some 10 minutes away from the Taksim square. Beds from 7 Euro.

Again, this is a hostel in the very heart of the old city of Istanbul, just around the corner of the Blue Mosque. Breakfast is included, rooms with own bathroom are available and – very nice – they have a sea view terrace. Beds from 15 Euro.

Neverland Hostel
The location of this Hostel is amazing: It is close to the Galatasaray Square, which is pretty much the middle of the Istiklal Caddesi (which leads to Taksim and Tünel), close to the sea and, last but not least, close to the Tram that takes you to the tourist center Sultanahmet… The staff is friendly and you can always meet interesting people in their Café, both local and foreign. It looks kind of closed when you stand in front of it, but I assure you, it is not.

This really is a basic Hostel where you shouldn’t except too much. The rooms are rather old-fashioned, but Internet and hot drinks are for free. Beds from 8 Euro.
